There are clear differences between the House and Senate versions of the farm bill. The nutrition title is getting all of the attention, but North Dakota Congressman Kevin Cramer says there are other issues. One hurdle is the concept of the permanent easements in the Senate bill. “I never heard a single farmer say they’d like the federal government to be able to lease more land forever. We’re going to push back hard on that.” Cramer, who is a member of the farm bill conference committee, spoke at the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association Convention.
