RRFN and our crop scouts will be putting on the miles this week for the first-ever Red River Farm Network Crop Tour. We’re starting the week in the southern Red River Valley today. On Tuesday, the route extends from Hillsboro to Mahnomen to Roseau. Northeast and north-central North Dakota will be the focus Wednesday. RRFN will be in and around the Jamestown area Thursday before finishing west of Grand Forks on Friday. The tour will focus on agronomic issues and make observations about crop maturity. “I’m already seeing crops drying down,” said Zach Fore, agronomist, Pioneer Seed. “We could very well have some soybean harvest happening in the first week of September.” Corn could be approaching black layer during that same time period.
