In northeast, North Dakota, desiccation of early planted canola is about to begin. BASF field representative Kristie Sundeen expects an average crop this year. The later-seeded crop could fare better for yield and quality. Sundeen reminds farmers to check their timing of applications, saying “don’t push the envelope, wait for the crop to be ready.” Farmers should also stick to labeled products. “I’ve got a lot of calls about paraquats being labeled on canola, that is not true. Diquats such as Reglone are labeled. There’s also Roundup and Sharpen.”
