North Dakota will have an unusual distinction in the farm bill process with the entire congressional delegation selected to serve on the conference committee. Minnesota Farmers Union President Gary Wertish doesn’t remember this happening in the past. Wertish thinks the committee selections set up well for the Midwestern farmers. “At one time, it looked like there’s no way we could get a farm bill done. Now, because of politics, we might actually get a farm bill. We’ll see how it works, but it’s starting to look more positive.”
