With this being an election year, candidate forums will dominate the Farmfest agenda. The forums will include the candidates for both of Minnesota’s Senate seats, the congressional districts serving agricultural areas and the open gubernatorial race. Forum coordinator Kent Thiesse says Farmfest has become an election-year tradition. “In recent years, they’ve moved the primary up to the second week of August so the Farmfest forums happen right before statewide primary which is a prime time.” Farmfest will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday near Redwood Falls. RRFN’s Farmfest reports are sponsored, in part, by the Minnesota Corn Growers Association.
