On Wednesday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made changes in his Cabinet appointing a former resource minister, Jim Carr, as the minister of international trade diversification. Trudeau says it’s important for Canada to diversify markets. Canada needs to ensure they aren’t as dependent on the U.S. These cabinet changes could reflect Canada’s trade worries. Canadian Cattlemen’s Association’s Executive Vice-President Dennis Laycraft says the board hasn’t had much time to discuss Canada’s cabinet changes, but the North American Free Trade Agreement is a priority for Canadian cattle producers. “I think we’re like everyone else. We’d like people to get back to the table and hopefully get this resolved.”
