Kansas-based custom harvester Rana Zeller is in Texas cutting silage. “We just finished up a really good run just north of Dallas. It was a pretty good crop. A little short on water. Everyone kind of had a frenzy last week all over the place. We had customers in Missouri and Kansas. They were looking for us to get there, because everything was drying up. They got some rain and everything greened up again. Rain would be helpful in some areas.” Zeller says the silage crop is about average. “I’ve seen much worse than I’ve seen better. It’s probably fair to medium, but could be much worse.” Harvest Hotline is sponsored, in part, by U.S. Custom Harvesters Incorporated.
