Minnesota-based custom harvester Dean Karau isn’t participating in the great American wheat harvest this summer. He’s busy taking care of his crop in southern Minnesota. It’s wet. “Up to 35 inches of rain here. Over west of us, farmers got a bunch of rain here past week, about 14 inches of rain in spots. Overall, the crop doesn’t look too bad. There’s other places this corn is waterlogged. Some of the crop is starting to perk up a little bit.” Karau says driving around looking at fields there is still standing water in some fields. “I have an 80 acre field and 30 acres of it is underwater.” Harvest Hotline is sponsored, in part, by the North Dakota Mill.
