Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue remains hopeful that a new North American Free Trade Agreement can soon be reached with Mexico. On his “Back to Our Roots” tour of the Pacific Northwest, Perdue told reporters the United States will likely get an agreement with Mexico first. During a stop in Oregon, trade was a large topic of conversation. The farm bill has been another hot topic, with Perdue saying he’s very optimistic it will get passed in Congress before the current legislation expires.
