When it comes to current trends in agriculture, Indiana farmer and speaker Damian Mason says trade is the main event. “The American farmer does not want handouts, they want trade. But right now, we have a situation where our trade policies haven’t been so good for different parts of our economy. The U.S. isn’t just going to roll over and take whatever China, or any other country, tries to tell us,” says Mason. “I know there’s people that get very political about it, replying with ‘Well, your farm isn’t going to go broke. My thought is that sounds more like a political sentiment than a realistic sentiment.”
