The Humane Society of the United States is airing a television advertising campaign which targets the commodity checkoff programs. The ads are running on cable channels, like CNN, Fox News and MSNBC. In the ad, the activist group is urging support for legislation proposed by New Jersey Senator Cory Booker and Utah Senator Mike Lee. The ad describes the checkoff program as “a government slush fund” that is raising the cost of food.
