Boehringer Ingelheim has announced the acquisition of Newport Laboratories, Worthington, Minnesota. Newport Laboratories creates customized vaccines that target specific viruses or bacteria causing disease in individual livestock operations. A Boehringer Ingelheim official said Newport Labs will be officially part of its animal health business unit and help provide a “more well-rounded and comprehensive portfolio of products.”
