The National Sunflower Association’s Summer Seminar will start next Wednesday, June 26 in Alexandria, Minnesota. National Sunflower Association Executive Director John Sandbakken says Wednesday’s first session will focus on CRISPR technology and other topics, including farm policy. “We’re going to take a look with a couple of researchers see what CRISPR can do for sunflower. Another speaker is Jason Hafemeister, who is the trade adviser to U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue. He’s going to talk about what’s going on in agricultural trade policy and NAFTA.” Sandbakken says the seminar will be a hub for the entire sunflower industry.
