Just over a week ago, Agricultural Trade Ambassador Gregg Doud was part of the Trump Administration’s team in China. On Thursday, Doud was in Des Moines and offered an insider’s look at those negotiations to members of the National Pork Producers Council. “We had quite the conversation. Of course, the challenge with China is these things are incremental. You think you agree upon something and you get on an airplane and, suddenly, it vanishes into thin air.” According to Doud, China is reorganizing its agriculture ministry. That is seen as an opportunity to open the dialogue on trade.
