The Northern Plains Potato Growers Association has a new president. Donavon Johnson started in the position Monday. Johnson says the NPPGA is working to determine their focus moving forward. A change in leadership includes some differences and new approaches. “The North Dakota and the northwestern Minnesota area does have an impact on the U.S. potato production. What we want to do is focus on what we can do best here. We’ll develop this moving forward.” Johnson grew up on a seed potato farm. He previously worked for the North Dakota Trade Office as the director of the global resource management group. Johnson replaces Chuck Gunnerson, who is retiring.
