Syngenta’s Enogen corn technology enhances ethanol production. Wimbledon, North Dakota farmer Mike Clemens is gaining a 40 cent-per-bushel premium for growing Enogen corn, but there is extra work involved. “We have to be able to isolate our fields for identity-preserved crops; we have to do our stewardship program and we can’t mix it with commercial corn.” Clemens has grown other identity-preserved crops in the past, which has given him an edge with the Enogen program.
