Negotiations are happening within the Republican caucus on how to address immigration. Russell Group President Randy Russell says they’ll likely need one vote, if not a series of votes, on immigration prior to the farm bill being brought up again in the House. Farm bill action in the Upper Chamber is also being monitored. “Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Pat Roberts has already talked to Majority Leader McConnell about getting it up on the floor fairly quickly so there’s a chance both bills could pass before the August recess and potentially conference in August, but there is a very thin margin of error right now for the House and Senate get a bill done and sent to the president before the November election.”
