Another White House meeting will concentrate on the Renewable Fuel Standard today. South Dakota Corn Growers Association executive director Lisa Richardson believes President Donald Trump will support a waiver, that will allow year-round sales of E15. The Environmental Protection Agency has approved the request of numerous oil refineries to be exempted from the RFS, which has been upsetting to agricultural interests. “These small refiner waivers have been a demand destroyer. In South Dakota, ethanol is our largest industry for corn. We need the RVP waiver so we can use ethanol year-round.” The National Corn Growers Association, American Soybean Association, National Association of Wheat Growers, American Farm Bureau and National Farmers Union have asked President Trump to approve E15 without undercutting the RFS.
