With a new farm bill in the works and the 2018 planting season underway, there is a lot on the minds of farmers today. On the policy front, farmers are waiting to see what the next farm bill look like. North Dakota Farm Service Agency Executive Director Brad Thykeson doesn’t think the ARC/PLC Program will see significant changes. “I think there will be a few tweaks, but farmers will most likely continue using the same program they’re used to moving forward.” From here on out, farmers will be spending many long hours in the fields. Thykeson reminds them that communication with their local FSA office is important. “We want to make sure our loan managers are aware of what’s happening in the farmers’ backyards.”
