In the short-term, farmers should be able to continue planting progress in the Northern Plains. World Weather Incorporated Senior Ag Meteorologist Drew Lerner says that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be absolutely dry. “We do have fast moving disturbances pushing through the region producing erratic, light rainfall. There could be a few counties that receive a few tenths of an inch, but that will be quite rare. The best potential for rain is Friday going into Saturday morning.” Lerner says there could be some greater amounts in a handful of counties. The key is keeping an eye on the radar each day, and the temperature bias should be favorable. “We should be warmer than usual in the next few days. We’ll have readings mostly confined to the 60s, 70s and 80s by Friday afternoon. It will be fairly warm through the weekend.”
