Starting Tuesday morning, the Wheat Quality Council’s Hard Red Winter Wheat Tour will trek across Kansas. Executive Vice President Dave Green says there is a lot of interest in this year’s wheat crop. “We have about 94 people on the tour so far. Approximately 24 cars will travel six different routes, including groups from Nebraska, Oklahoma and Colorado.” Green adds this year’s crop rating is the poorest it has been in a long time. “I feel like we’ll be dissecting plants to check head health. There are a lot of freeze damage reports that have come out lately.”
