Summit Commodities market analyst Tomm Pfitzenmaier says there are a lot of planters running along the I-80 corridor east of Des Moines. “It surprised me, and those who weren’t planting were doing field work,” says Pfitzenmaier. “I would guess by the weekend we’ll start to see a lot of activity. Although soil temperatures are still cold, farmers are still going to put seed in the ground with a forecast of 60s and 70s”
