In the Pioneer Agronomy Report, we learn Pioneer Field Agronomist Eric Lagge has been out prioritizing corn fields for the harvest run. “Once you’re in the field and off the headlands, start by doing the pinch test and the pull test,” said Lagge. “You want to pinch the base of the stalk to make sure it is still intact along with pushing the plant til it touches the row next to it.” This will help determine if stalk integrity is an issue or not. It is also important to determine if there is good ear and shank integrity. Listen to the report.
