Despite the lack of moisture, Joe Breker expects the crops in his Havana, North Dakota, area will still make it to harvest. However, “I would say most of it’s gonna struggle to make APH yields.” Corn has shown signs of late-season stress, including ears dropping prematurely and smaller, lighter kernels. Corn yields could also vary considerably within the same field, with Breker estimating some areas could be near 80 bushels per acre while better spots could top 200.
