In the Farmfest congressional forum with the 7th District candidates, topics ranged from agricultural labor to renewable fuels. Responding to a question about trade, Representative Michelle Fischbach said tariffs have brought other countries to the table. “Under the Biden Administration over four years, there were zero trade agreements signed,” said Fischbach. “Under this administration, there are 20 signed and ag is usually the winner in those trade agreements.” The DFL candidate, Eric Osberg, argued the Trump White House has overreached constitutional levels with its tariff policy. “Should Congress have a larger role in tariffs?
