Attendance for the Wednesday candidate forums at Farmfest was described as one of the best, rivaling the year Jesse Ventura, Norm Coleman and Skip Humphrey were on the stage. House Majority Leader Lisa Demuth was the first of the three Republican gubernatorial candidates to respond to a question about permitting. “When we are running anywhere from weeks to months to sometimes years in permitting delays, that is holding back any type of growth,” said Demuth. “When it comes specifically to ag though, some of those things that we need to change are knowing that we need to allow crop protection. We can’t just be eliminating the tools that are out there for our agriculture and our farmers to be able to use.”
