The Senate Agriculture Committee announced staff additions. Corey Brown Weber will serve as the deputy staff director and Skylar Sowder will rejoin the committee as policy director. Weber joined the committee as chief counsel for the Republican staff in August 2025 and will continue these responsibilities in her new capacity. She previously served as legislative director for North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis and held roles with the National Pork Producers Council, the National Agricultural Law Center and the North Carolina General Assembly. Sowder served as professional staff for the committee overseeing policies dealing with commodity programs, crop insurance and disaster assistance. Most recently, Sowder was vice president of government affairs at the Farm Credit Council. She has also served as an agriculture advisor in Chairman Boozman’s personal office in addition to the House Agriculture Committee.
