House Agriculture Committee Co-Chair Paul Anderson wants to see changes in the state’s Paid Family Leave Act, but is not optimistic it will happen during this legislative session. “Everybody likes to have the benefit, but it’s got to be paid for, you have to find replacement workers, it’s added bookwork and such,” said Anderson. “I think it needs some tweaks, but I’m not sure it will get done this year because it’s been pretty partisan on that issue.”Anderson says it will be difficult to move forward on big issues with a short legislative session and the Legislature evenly split between both parties. The Minnesota legislative session begins February 17.
