According to North Dakota Farm Service Agency Program Director Brian Haugen, a large number of farmers have already signed up for the trade mitigation payments. “In North Dakota, we’ve received and processed a little over 18,000 applications,” said Haugen. “We’ve processed 60 percent of the eligible producer applications. With that, North Dakota has released $123 million to date under the Market Facilitation Program.” The MFP payments are based on 2018 production and enrollment must be completed by mid-January. The production must be reported by May 1, 2019.
