Severe storms swept through Minnesota and western Wisconsin on Monday night causing widespread wind damage, hail, and localized flooding. The National Weather Service in Twin Cities reported hail up to 1.25 inches near Morristown, MN, and numerous damaging wind gusts exceeding 60 miles per hour across multiple counties. Stevens County experienced 0.88-inch hail, while heavy rain of 1.5 inches was recorded near Maple Plain, MN. Wind damage was extensive, with reports of large trees snapped or uprooted in several communities, including Elk River, Winsted, Mayer, and New Richmond. Roof damage was noted near Browerville, and multiple roads were flooded in Morris with up to two feet of water reported. Airports including Hutchinson, Glencoe, Faribault, Owatonna, and Minneapolis-St. Paul registered strong wind gusts, some reaching 70 mph.
