President Donald Trump will not impose additional tariffs on China for 90 days, giving the two countries a deadline to come to terms on the current trade dispute. China has also agreed to lift trade barriers to U.S. agricultural products. The White House says China will “purchase a not yet agreed upon, but very substantial amount” of agricultural products. China has also agreed to start making those purchases immediately. On Air Force One, Trump said this deal will “have an incredibly positive impact on farming.” In a statement, American Soybean Association President John Heisdorffer said if this action leads to a long-term agreement, it will be “extremely positive for the soybean industry.”
