Minnesota Senator Tina Smith has not seen the final farm bill language, but expects something similar to the Senate’s version of the bill. “I am told by Senator Stabenow and Senator Roberts the nutrition parts of the farm bill are very similar to what we approved in the Senate. This tells me we’ll be able to get the bill through.” Smith remains hopeful the bill will get done by the end of the year. “The plan would be to take it up in the House first. Then, it will come to the Senate, we will vote on it and it will go to the White House for a signature.”
