Minnesota’s Center for Rural Policy and Development has released a multi-year agenda focusing on the challenges and opportunities facing rural communities over the next three years. According to CRPD President and CEO Julie Tesch, the choice to go further out with the agenda allows them to take a deeper look at the many issues impacting rural Minnesota families. “We’ve gotten really good at cracking issues open, but we’re not able to go in depth. It’s myself and I only have two researchers and so we’re only able to go so far.” The agenda includes health care, farm succession, the shifting landscape in energy and the environment, local government funding, and rural childcare.
