During a recent Senate Committee on Appropriations meeting, Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack spoke about the effects of the H1N1 virus on the Ag industry and trade. “We’ve made a concerted effort to reach out to our trade partners and we’ve seen very little restriction, a couple of countries expressing concern, but for the most part our trade partners understand that we’re on top of this,” Vilsack said while reaffirming that pasteurized milk kills the virus and that research into the virus is ongoing.
