According to USDA’s Small Grains Summary, U.S. all-wheat production totaled 1.88 billion bushels.That’s up eight percent from the revised 2017 total of 1.74 billion bushels. Area harvested totaled 39.6 million acres, up five percent from the previous year. The U.S. wheat yield is 47.6 bushels per acre, which is up 1.3 bushels from one year ago. Winter wheat production was down seven percent in 2018 at 1.18 billion bushels. For spring wheat, production was up 50 percent to 623 million bushels. Production for durum wheat increased 41 percent to 77.3 million bushels.
