North Dakota-based custom harvester Kent Braathen is preparing for South Dakota’s soybean harvest. “I think it’ll be on schedule. It looks to me like it would be maybe the middle part or later this week when we get going on things,” says Braathen. “The crop is pretty heat stressed. It was pretty dry in August. I don’t think things filled out real decent, but I guess we’ll know more once we get into it.” Braathen wrapped up wheat and canola harvest in the Kenmare, North Dakota area before Labor Day.
