At the North Dakota Livestock Alliance’s annual summit, Executive Director Amber Boeshans said livestock is the key to diversifying agriculture in the state. “In North Dakota, we have an opportunity to responsibly add livestock to the state.” Animal agriculture is advocated as a sustainable boost to the economy. “The answer is simply Number Two is #1. When it comes to soil health and crop management, you can’t beat manure.” With the addition of more processing, byproducts from canola, soybeans, and corn could also provide more feedstuffs.
