The labor agreement between West Coast shippers and dockworkers is set to expire tonight, further increasing the logistical headache for agriculture. In June, the two sides told Biden administration officials they were committed to the negotiations process and would try to avoid a strike or lockout. In 2015, an eight day strike had an $8 billion impact on the economy.
