The trade is anxiously awaiting Thursday’s USDA acreage report. Bolt Marketing market analyst DuWayne Bosse anticipates more prevent plant than USDA’s initial forecast. “We know USDA penciled in some prevent plant, but is it 1.5 million or 2.5 million?” Bosse thinks soybeans may have lost acres nationwide. “Farmers had fertilizer booked, wanting to get corn in and when corn is $7.50, that helps a lot. We planted corn later than we ever have on my farm and our planting window for soybeans was really short.”
