The South Dakota legislative session ends today. South Dakota Farm Bureau State Public Policy Director Matthew Bogue says there was an unprecedented budget request this year. “We had over $1 billion in one-time spending. To put that in perspective, our total budget was about $5.8 billion.” Over $15 million went towards projects that directly impact agriculture, including cybersecurity for agriculture. “As agriculture becomes more advanced with technology, the risks and cyber-hacks are becoming more prevalent, and we want to be able to protect producers across the state. “
