The live cattle market traded firmer last week. U.S. Commodities President Don Roose says the cattle cycle is positive. “Slaughter is increasing and packers are starting to chase the cattle markets. There’s more beef in the pipeline, but the cycle of trade remains positive. We’re in the cattle cycle where you’d think we’d have another two years of cattle cycle positives, maybe three. That’s the big picture.” The lean hog market looks top heavy. “We had a key reversal technical there as well. That’s a warning side for the bulls, but that may signal an intermediate or big top. We’ll continue to monitor it this week.”
