The Vietnamese government has announced it will eliminate a three percent tariff on U.S. wheat imports effective December 30th. In a joint statement, U.S. Wheat Associates and the National Association of Wheat Growers thanked the Biden administration, USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service and Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance for eliminating the tariff. Vietnam imported more than 500,000 metric tons of U.S. wheat valued at $129 million during the 2020/21 marketing year.
