Fertilizer prices have more than doubled from one year ago. “We’ve seen a massive explosion in urea and anhydrous prices,” said Todd Erickson, general manager, Finley Farmer’s Grain and Elevator. “Anhydrous has gone up $400 in the last three weeks; urea increased $250 per ton, which is more than double the usual cost.” Erickson is not expecting much fall fertilizer to be applied. “Right now, we don’t even have a price for urea or anhydrous to quote farmers. Right now, I think farmers are in a state of shock over fertilizer prices.”
