In South Dakota, two percent of the winter wheat is harvested. That’s behind last year’s 13 percent. USDA’s NASS says the winter wheat is rated 47 percent good to excellent. Spring wheat conditions are 51 percent good to excellent, with 90 percent of the wheat headed, behind 97 last year. South Dakota’s soybeans are 68 percent good to excellent. One percent of the crop is setting pods, equal to last year. The corn is rated 74 percent good to excellent, with 10 percent of the crop silking, ahead of last year’s two percent.
