Product shortages are becoming commonplace for farm inputs this spring. “I think it is a combination of logistical issues driven by COVID and other pieces,” said Joe Short, row crops herbicide product manager, Valent. “With the significant increase in corn and soybean acres, it is going to be really tight for the supply of glyphosate, glufosinate, dicamba and 2, 4-D.” Short says there are options available for post-emergence weed control. “One of those products is Cobra herbicide which has been around for quite awhile, but it is still a very effective herbicide. It’s great for burndown in post-emergence applications and cover a broad spectrum of broadleaf weeds.”
