The federal judge in California has rejected Bayer’s proposed settlement in the Roundup case. Bayer proposed a $2 billion settlement to address the concerns of those exposed to glyphosate, but who do not yet have claims against the company. Bayer previously committed $9.6 billion to resolve 125,000 existing claims regarding glyphosate and cancer. The proposed class action settlement was for people who have been exposed to the herbicide and become sick in the future. The judge said the settlement would do more for Bayer than any potential claimants.
