CHS is reporting a second quarter net loss of $38 million. That compares to a $125 million gain in the same quarter last year. The agriculture and nitrogen production segments had a significant increase in earnings year-over-year. That was offset by losses in its energy business. The refined fuel market was hurt by the pandemic and the reduction in travel. Exceptionally higher costs for renewable energy credits also decreased margins.
