Forbes has released their latest “30 Under 30” list and a Carrington, North Dakota entrepreneur is among the honorees. Duchessa Gelato founder Maartje Murphy describes the recognition as “a surprise” and is “grateful and proud.” She started the company in 2018 when she started buying milk from her family’s farm in central North Dakota. The Van Bedaf family, who now milk 1,500 dairy cows, came to the U.S. from the Netherlands nearly 20 years ago. Murphy and her husband are working on creating a new line of specialty Dutch Gouda cheeses under the name Cows & Co. Creamery. Hear more in this Red River Farm Network interview with Murphy.
