According to preliminary data from the U.S. Census Bureau, China purchased a record $4.8 billion in agricultural goods from the U.S. in October. That’s the largest monthly purchase since November 2013 at $4.7 billion. China is working on meeting its commitments in the phase one trade deal and is 28 percent below the pace needed to reach its commitment. So far, China’s year to date purchases of agriculture products is at $17.5 billion.
