From 2012 to 2017, there was a 27 percent increase in women farmers and ranchers across the U.S. This was one statistic delivered by FarmHer founder Marji Alaniz during the virtual North Dakota Farmers Union WILD (Women In Leadership Development) Conference. “We (women) have come a long ways. While women in agriculture is nothing new, but there is always room for more.” Alaniz, who delivered the keynote address during the conference, encouraged attendees to think about where they are and what they’re doing. “It’s pretty powerful when you take time to think about what you want to do. However, you can only do so much with your time, effort, energy, talent and resources,” said Alaniz. ” 2020 has been a wild year, and unfortunately I don’t think we’re getting off that roller coaster anytime soon. It does get you use to just rolling with it. The biggest thing you can do in rolling with it is still knowing what it is you want to do.”
